Our Remodeling Process
From First Conversation to Final Walkthrough — A Clear Remodeling Process
Most homeowners who contact A1 Turns LLC have never remodeled before, or they've had an experience where communication fell apart and the project became stressful. We believe a clearly defined process is one of the most important things a remodeling company can offer. Every project follows the same seven-step sequence — from the first conversation through the one-year labor warranty period — so you always know where things stand, what comes next and who to call.
Based in Lawrenceville, Georgia — Serving Gwinnett, Barrow and DeKalb Counties.
Step 01
Initial Conversation
We begin by discussing your project type, location and goals. We'll ask about existing problems with the space, your desired style, approximate investment range, preferred timing and whether you're interested in learning about financing options. This conversation helps both sides understand whether the project is a good fit before any further commitments are made.
Step 02
Site Visit
Once we agree to move forward, we schedule a visit to the project location. We review existing conditions, take measurements, assess access and installation considerations, note any potential project limitations and confirm what materials will be needed. The site visit allows us to prepare an accurate estimate based on what is actually there — not just what is described over the phone.
Step 03
Design and Material Planning
With the site information in hand, we coordinate the design direction and material selections that match your goals and investment. This may include layout planning, cabinetry selection, countertop comparisons, flooring, tile, fixtures, appliances, railings and finish coordination. Our goal is to help you build a cohesive direction before finalizing the scope — so that what gets built reflects what you actually chose.
Step 04
Scope and Proposal
We provide a written proposal covering the defined scope of work, pricing, allowances where applicable, responsibilities of each party, payment schedule, estimated sequence of work, warranty information and available financing options. Clear documentation at this stage protects both the homeowner and our team by establishing a shared understanding before construction begins.
Step 05
Construction and Coordination
During construction, we manage scheduling, communicate progress, address site conditions as they develop, document any necessary changes and keep you informed of material status and upcoming steps. When unexpected conditions are found — as sometimes happens inside walls, floors or existing structures — we communicate clearly and promptly rather than proceeding without your knowledge.
Step 06
Final Walkthrough
Before we consider a project complete, we walk through the finished work with you to review every element — finish details, operation of installed items, any agreed corrections and maintenance information for new products and materials. We explain the warranty process and how to reach us if a covered issue arises after completion.
Step 07
One-Year Labor Warranty Period
A1 Turns LLC provides a one-year warranty on covered labor performed by our team. Product and material warranties may be provided separately by their respective manufacturers. Warranty coverage, exclusions and requirements are explained in the applicable project agreement. During the warranty period, contact us directly if a covered issue arises.
Our Warranty
One-Year Labor Warranty
A1 Turns LLC provides a one-year warranty on covered labor performed by our team. This warranty reflects our commitment to the quality of our installation work and our accountability after a project is complete.
Product and material warranties may be provided separately by their respective manufacturers. Warranty coverage, exclusions and requirements are explained in the applicable project agreement.
Warranty coverage applies to labor performed directly by A1 Turns LLC under the applicable project agreement. Coverage does not extend to damage caused by misuse, subsequent modifications, owner-supplied materials, acts of nature or conditions outside the scope of the original construction agreement. Always review the project agreement for the specific terms that apply to your project.
Common Questions
What to Expect at Each Stage
These questions cover the most common uncertainties homeowners have before starting a remodeling project with A1 Turns LLC. If your question isn't here, contact us directly — we're glad to walk through any part of the process before you commit to anything.
How long does the estimate process take?
The timeline depends on the project scope. For a straightforward bathroom or single-room renovation, we can often complete the initial consultation and site visit within a week or two. Larger projects — whole-home renovations, multi-room remodels or projects involving custom materials with longer lead times — may require additional planning sessions before a detailed proposal is finalized. We'll give you a realistic timeline after the initial conversation.
What should I prepare for the site visit?
You don't need to prepare anything formal. It helps to have a general sense of what you want to change, any inspiration images you've saved, and an honest description of any existing problems — moisture issues, structural concerns, out-of-level floors, outdated plumbing or electrical. The more information you share during the visit, the more accurate the estimate will be. We prefer to discover conditions during the site visit rather than mid-construction.
How are changes during construction handled?
Unexpected conditions sometimes appear once walls are opened or floors are removed. When this happens, we stop and communicate with the homeowner before proceeding with work that falls outside the original scope. Changes are documented in writing, including any adjustment to cost or schedule. We do not proceed with out-of-scope work without the homeowner's knowledge and authorization.
How do payment schedules work?
Payment schedules are defined in the project proposal and vary based on project size, material lead times and construction phases. Typically, projects involve a deposit at the start, progress payments tied to construction milestones and a final payment at project completion and walkthrough. The full payment schedule is documented before construction begins so there are no surprises. If you're using a financing program, the payment structure will reflect the requirements of the applicable financing agreement.
What happens at the final walkthrough?
During the final walkthrough, we review every element of the completed project together — including finish quality, operation of installed items like doors, drawers, fixtures and hardware, and any corrections agreed upon during construction. We'll provide maintenance information for new materials and explain how the one-year labor warranty applies to your project. The walkthrough is also your opportunity to raise any concerns before final payment is processed.
